The importance of Travel

Nowadays, travelling is no luxury, it is a commodity. We have such an easy access to travel and to the rest of the world, as never ever before. There are thousands of reasons for which it is important to travel. I like to say that all you need to travel… is a passport!

Here, I explain the obvious and what is not that obvious, in three points!

“Travelling is the only thing you buy that makes you richer.”

First point. Travelling is always an amazing experience. To discover a culture and the learning process of a language : for sure, travelling teaches us a lot, and improves physical and mental health.

Travelling makes us humble. It shows us that the world is bigger than us and that we are not the center of it. Travelling, teaches us to do without the superfluous, to learn that often less is more.

Travel is also about learning more about oneself. Taking a break from your routine, evolving in a different environment and living many and varied situations, makes us face reality, ourselves and our limits…

“The world is a book and those who do not travel read only one page.”

Second point. We live in a global world, always in motion. Nobody can limit oneself to one’s country, think with borders, turn a blind eye to the rest of the world.

It is important to open up to others and to the world too. Travelling is about discovering, seeing and tasting, but also meeting, some people, and some truly different people. Those meetings are always fascinating.

I would not think of anything else that matters more to me today than travel. I truly believe travelling is the best class of the school of life. Travel is about learning. Travel is about living. Travel!

“Fear is only temporary. Regrets are forever.”

Third point. I think this is my favorite quote : To do mistakes, to take risks, to face your fears, only make you win, never lose. Time maybe, money without any doubt, nothing else.

One of the best experiences of my life has been to travel alone many times. Two days in Paris, four days in London and then eight days in New York. This is the one I encourage everyone to do.

I would hate myself today if I had never done it. Travelling alone is super positive. I believe the simple fact of being alone makes us be ourselves, makes us be the best version of ourselves. Free.

I love photography too. Just check out my Instagram : polsogood !

As a bonus, here are what I consider my best photographies :

For me, travelling is a revival every time, each new city or country visited, feels like a new door opens. I always come back with a lot of ideas in mind. Travel inspires me, makes me feel alive, makes me feel happy.
